RICHARD HAMMOND
August 2010
- Home to New Zealand. Always good to touch base with family and friends in the homeland.
- Smokin' Joe Kubek and Bnois King at the Hudson River Blues and BBQ Festival. Aaron Comess and I provided the bass and drums for these two Texas Bluesmen at this annual NYC Blues Fest. It's always fun to work with such seasoned vets, and great to play some Texas shuffles with Aaron.

July 2010
- Recording up at Bicoastal Music with greats Neil Dorfsman and Cliff Carter. I'm always honored to be in the room with guys like this.
- With Joan Osborne at HullaBalou Festival in Louisville.
- Recording bed tracks for Rebeccah Everett's latest release. With Aaron Comess at His House Studios. Roman Klun producing and engineering.
- Cracked Latin gig. I was psyched to gig with these guys, and have some fun with this all-star band. Band includes Mark Soskin (piano), Matt Beck (guitar), Bashiri Johnson (percussion), Charlie Z (drums), Greg Clarke (background vox) and Richie Canata (sax).

June 2010
- At Mission Sound and His House Studios recording Peter Kiesewalter's latest project: the Brooklyn Rundfunk Orkestrata. Another great, kooky project that is, as per Peter, always seriously musical and challenging. The tracking days at Mission had Jeff Lipstein on drums and Ben Butler on guitar. Oliver Straus engineering. At His House Studios rhythm section was Aaron Comess on drums and Ben on guitar. Roman Klun engineered.

May 2010
- Working with Phil Ramone and new artist Jamar Rodgers. An honor to be working with the great Phil Ramone. Band includes Henry Hey, Ben Butler, Aaron Comess and Jill Dell'Abate.
- Up at Avatar Studios recording with artist Kim Berry. Saul Zonana Producing, Teddy Kumpel on guitar, Doug Yowell on Drums and Kevin Bents on Keyboards. Fun project- great artist, great band.
- Chrissi Poland record release at the Canal Room. Chrissi is one of my fave people, and such a bad-ass musician. One of the best new singers in NYC, she also rocks it on guitar, keys and drums. She released her GREAT new CD 'Songs From The Pavement' to a packed house with a bunch of great musical guests and a killer band: Steve Elliot on guitar, Pat Firth on Keys, and Aaron 'Baj' Comess on drums.

April 2010
- Joan Osborne Northeast Tour. It was great to be out with Joan and the fellas again- we did a brief run up and down the Northeast to great houses, with typically amazing performances from Joan. She is a great bandleader, and one of the most inspiring artists that I've worked with to date, and playing with the band (Andrew Carillo, Keith Cotton and Aaron Comess) is like riding in a Rolls Royce. It's pretty luxurious.

March 2010
- Alyssa Graham at The Jazz Bistro in St Louis. Jon Cowherd, Dan Reiser and I joined Alyssa and her husband Doug at the Bistro for a week, playing at this great, well-run jazz club. We were supporting her Sunnyside Records debut 'Echo', which is a beautiful record. Jon and Dan are two of my favorite people, and among the finest NYC has to offer. It was nice to be playing some jazz with such great musicians.
- Lucy Woodward at SXSW. We went down to the Blowout that is SXSW with Lucy, and played a string of successful shows. It's fun to hang with the extended NYC muso family in another town. Seemed like everyone was down there. Highlights were some late-night hanging with Tony Mason, Jeff Hill and great new Kiwi artist Gin Wigmore, and eating some killin' BBQ out at Kreuz Market in Lockhart- a worthy expedition for anyone serious about their 'Q.

February 2010
- Lucy Woodward at Le Poisson Rouge. After recording several tracks on Lucy's 'Hooked' release on Verve, we finally got to perform live with this incredible artist. She is a stunner. It was a no holds barred gig of epic proportions to a packed house. The band included Henry Hey, Doug Wamble, Brian Delaney, Everett Bradley, Greg Clark, Antoine Silverman, Anja Wood and Jonathan Dinklage.
- Started recording rhythm beds for AnnMarie Milazzo's Tell Tale Heart project. Ben Butler and Aaron Comess played guitar and drums respectively, and Roman Klun engineered. We did the beds at Aaron's 'His House' studio in Downtown Manhattan. AnnMarie is a long time musical collaborater and friend, and in my opinion is one of the most amazing talents out there. She is a triple threat as vocalist, writer and vocal arranger. I'm producing, arranging and playing bass, and I'm thrilled to be a part of this project, as the concept and the songs are great. The music is based on the life and works of Edgar Allen Poe.

January 2010
- Conrad Korsch CD Release at Joe's Pub. I was honored to be asked to play bass for Conrad (who is incredible bassist in his own right) for the release of his CD 'Live, Love, Leave'. Conrad sang and played guitar, and surrounded himself with NYC's finest, including Shawn Pelton, Matt Beck, Everett Bradley, Joy Askew and Rod Stewart's drummer Dave Palmer.
